China says rapid tech growth makes energy demand forecasting increasingly difficult

A senior Chinese government official said that rapid expansion of new industries, including digital technology and AI, is making it increasingly difficult to forecast domestic energy demand. Structural changes in the economy are causing traditional forecasting models to lose accuracy. Beijing is considering updating its energy planning methods to keep pace with the speed of industrial transformation.
