Citi, HSBC and StanChart pull $640 million in profits out of Indonesia
Citi, HSBC and Standard Chartered have transferred around $640 million of their Indonesian profits out of the country since 2024, as they reduce exposure to Southeast Asia's largest economy. The move comes amid President Prabowo Subianto's increasingly state-focused economic policies, which are prompting foreign banks to scale back.
