Hubble Captures Two Galaxy Clusters Merging
NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has imaged galaxy cluster CL0016+1609 (MACS J0018.5+1626), one of the most extensively studied clusters at X-ray and radio wavelengths. X-ray observations revealed it is actually two clusters in the process of merging along our line of sight. The cluster is notably bright in X-ray wavelengths.
