George R.R. Martin has good reason to be proud of his A Song of Ice and Fire books after they inspired one of the most recognizable TV franchises. However, in the adaptations, many of the stories changed , and even Martin can admit that sometimes, it's for the better. Game of Thrones , though a more direct adaptation than its successor, House of the Dragon , still diverges from Martin's novels on several occasions. There was no choice when the show passed the written plot, as The Winds of Winter is yet to be released, but before that, some things were adjusted to fit the new medium, surprising even the author. And, retroactively, Martin admits that some of these changes were for the better. It was not foolproof, as many changes didn't work , and it seems like some of the largest changes to House of the Dragon led to an irrevocable break between Martin and showrunner Ryan Condal . Despite that, Martin has, on separate occasions, praised what Game of Thrones did with the characters Shae ( Sibel Kekilli ) and Osha ( Natalia Tena ) and on how House of the Dragon changed up Viserys I ( Paddy Considine ).

British Heart Foundation expects about 45 people a day to die over next decade if current trends continue

About 170,000 people are expected to die from heart-related conditions linked to obesity – one of the leading causes of preventable illnesses – by 2035, according to a leading charity.

The analysis, conducted by the British Heart Foundation (BHF), found that about 45 people a day are expected to die from cardiovascular disease linked to excess weight and obesity in England over the next decade, as long as current trends in obesity rates continue. In the UK, about two in three adults are living with obesity, and worldwide, more than half of adults and a third of children and young people will be overweight or obese by 2050 .

It has been 2 months since the devastating news that Law & Order: Organized Crime would not be returning for Season 6 , leaving the future of franchise fan-favorite Christopher Meloni 's Elliot Stabler in limbo. It is no doubt disappointing for fans of the long-running crime franchise, though the good news is that the flagship Law & Order and its incredibly popular sibling series (as well as the one where Stabler originates), Law & Order: SVU, will both be returning for new seasons this fall. Naturally, questions have arisen whether or not Meloni could reunite with his longtime partner Olivia Benson ( Mariska Hargitay ) following his brief return in Season 27's premiere episode.
