Solar Gravitational Lens Could Image White Dwarfs and Black Holes
A new paper by Dr. Slava Turyshev, posted to the arXiv preprint server, highlights that the Solar Gravitational Lens (SGL) could be used to image white dwarfs and black holes, not just distant exoplanets as previously emphasised. The SGL uses the Sun's gravity as a natural telescope with extraordinary magnifying power. The proposed mission is considered groundbreaking but faces significant technical and logistical challenges.
