Werro runs 1:53.28 in Paris – Kratochvílová's 800m world record under threat
Swiss 22-year-old Audrey Werro ran 1:53.28 in the women's 800m at the Paris Diamond League, matching the third-fastest time ever recorded. The mark equals the long-standing world record set by Jarmila Kratochvílová on 25 July 1983 — the oldest world record in track and field. British Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson has also declared her intention to break the record at a London meet next month.
