Jogaila Learned Statecraft at His Father Algirdas's Side in Lithuania

The future King of Poland, Władysław II Jagiełło, received his political education at the side of his father, Grand Duke Algirdas of Lithuania. He observed policy towards Moscow and the Teutonic Order, took part in military campaigns, and learnt the mechanisms of power. This upbringing shaped him as the future ruler of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
