UK sets minimum age of 16 for major social media platforms
The UK has announced it will set a minimum age of 16 for accessing major social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X, TikTok and Snapchat. It follows Australia, which imposed similar restrictions last year. Big tech firms are fighting back globally against such regulations. Former Meta employee turned whistleblower Arturo Béjar says parents worldwide share the same dread about their children going online.
