Galaxy NGC 1052-DF9 lacks dark matter — the third such case found
Astronomers have identified NGC 1052-DF9 as a third galaxy whose movements can be explained without invoking dark matter, joining the previously known DF2 and DF4. All three objects are located in the same region of space. The finding challenges standard galaxy formation models and hints at previously unknown cosmological processes.
