NSW launches $34m shark drone patrol program covering 70 beaches
The New South Wales government has announced a $34 million program deploying shark-spotting drones at 70 beaches from dawn to dusk year-round. Premier Chris Minns said the initiative aims to restore beachgoer confidence following a series of shark sightings and attacks. Among the incidents was a great white shark attack on Sydney mother Leah Stewart at Coogee Beach earlier this month; she is no longer in a critical condition.
