Fire alert across nearly all of Poland as drought and heat dry out forests
Nearly all of Poland is now in a forest fire risk zone due to persistent heat, lack of rainfall and severely dried-out forest floors. The Government Security Centre (RCB) issued its first fire alert for residents of three districts in Masovia. Forestry services and emergency authorities are urging extreme caution and have activated a dedicated emergency hotline.
