Ice cream shop in Pszczyna gives free scoops for top grades – ombudsman calls it discrimination
The owner of the Pod Dębem ice cream parlour in Pszczyna continues a tradition of giving free ice cream to children who present a top-grade school report (red stripe) before 8 PM on the last day of school. Poland's Children's Rights Ombudsman has suggested the practice could be considered discrimination against lower-achieving pupils. The owner defends it as a reward for hardworking students.
