US tariffs curbed Chinese e-commerce; EU's July VAT change may fall short
From July 2025, the EU is eliminating its customs exemption for parcels from China worth up to €150, but Chinese sellers are expected to sidestep the change by shipping from European warehouses. Analysts suggest Europe's measure may prove less effective without tighter rules on local warehouse operations.
