CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger have given us a glimpse at Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2 in action for the first time.

Look a little closer, however, and you may spot what some fans think is a notable Cyberpunk 2077 character waiting in the wings.

The official Edgerunners Twitter account posted a two-second GIF of season 2's main female protagonist – and seemingly former corpo – Talia Yang leaping through the air.

In the background is a Maelstrom member hanging over the balcony. That might not be any chrome-added gang affiliate, though. Some think it's Dum Dum, the contact for V in early Cyberpunk 2077 quest 'The Pickup.'

Those who have steered themselves through the neon-drenched streets of Night City in CD Projekt Red's open-world masterpiece will be all too aware of Dum Dum.

Designed as an early chance to experiment with the RPG's narrative decision-making, the gang member can be killed or paid off – among other options – if the deal goes south. He can then emerge in a later quest, depending on your choices.

If that is Dum Dum in the above clip, that likely confirms that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2 is set before the events of Cyberpunk 2077 (as was the first season, it should be noted). The other option is that it's canon that V left Dum Dum alive.

Of course, other Cyberpunk 2077 characters have appeared in Edgerunners – namely, Atom Smasher and his run-in with David. That didn't turn out well for our hero, but it apparently could have been far worse .

Other Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2 characters announced so far include Weak Kingsley, Roman Carax, and 'D'.

Resident Evil 2 director and Devil May Cry creator Hideki Kamiya has jokingly detailed a concept for a cozy life sim game starring a retired Leon Kennedy.

Outside of series creator Shinji Mikami, you could make an argument for Kamiya being the most impactful person to be involved with the Resident Evil series. After the original game was the first game he was credited on, Kamiya then directed Resident Evil 2 which is still considered by many to be one of, if not the best game in the series. That second game is also the one that introduced us to Leon Kennedy, who has gone on to be the series' most beloved character.

But despite his massive impact on the series and the survival horror genre in general, Kamiya has openly said he hates horror , and earlier this year he pitched Capcom creating a "'non-scary' mode" for Resident Evil Requiem so he could enjoy the game's puzzles in peace. Now, over on Twitter (translated by Automaton ) Kamiya has responded to fan requests for him to return to the Resident Evil series – which he hasn't been involved with since his Resident Evil 4 turned into Devil May Cry – by detailing what he would do with a new game.

Kamiya says if he made a new Resident Evil title, "it'd be a game where a retired Leon spends his days in the countryside fishing, gathering wild vegetables, baking bread, walking his dog, tending to his garden, driving 50 kilometers to the nearest general store, inviting his old friends over for barbecues, fixing his elderly neighbour's oven, and selling homemade lemonade at the local festival. Would you still be OK with that?"

Given how huge the cozy game market is, people naturally are still OK with that, with one comment saying they'd be interested in "Resident Evil Pokopia." Kamiya acknowledges the fan response, saying: "Capcom, there seem to be a lot of people asking for a Resident not-Evil game like this. If you ever have the time, please consider making it… I'd like to play it too."

Debates over Supergirl 's divisive needle drop went down to the "very last week" according to director Craig Gillespie.

The moment in question, during Supergirl's final act, features a Kelty Greye cover of 'The Middle' by Jimmy Eat World, a much slower tempo version of the song that audiences largely felt were at odds with the tone of the scene and the movie as a whole.

"There were a lot of options," Supergirl writer Ana Nogueira told Rolling Stone , with Gillespie revealing that "there were probably about 45 songs that went against that scene."

Gillespie said, "That was probably the biggest discussion. And it was down to the very last week, and I gotta give James [Gunn] credit for that one." He added that "a remix of a classic" was also a runner-up for the soundtracked scene – but didn't say what it was.

Reacting to the news, Greye wrote on Instagram , "As a proud nerd who was raised on superhero movies, this is quite literally a dream come true!"

Gunn, of course, is renowned for his deployment of pop and rock songs in his films, from the '80s-heavy Guardians of the Galaxy to the earworms of Peacemaker's opening titles sequences in its first two seasons. Fans may be less pleased with his contributions here, however.

All told, Supergirl has disappointed in its opening weekend. Its global opening of $68 million has led DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran to release a statement .

Safran told The New York Times , "While Supergirl didn't meet our box office expectations, it’s just one component of a broader, long-term strategy at DC Studios that we remain confident in."

AYN has announced that its Thor and Odin series handhelds are getting another price hike on Friday.

The Thor devices are now $10 to $30 more expensive, while the Odin 2 Portal and Odin 3 handhelds go up by $10.

The price increase goes into effect on Friday, so you still have a few days to act if you’re keen on these devices.

AYN is one of the more premium Android handheld brands out there, but it hasn’t been immune to the RAM crisis. The company previously announced price hikes early this year for some models, but it’s now revealed even more bad news.

AYN confirmed on Discord that the Thor, Odin 3, and Odin 2 Portal handhelds will all receive price increases on Friday (July 3). The firm explained that the Thor Lite, Base, Pro, and Max 512GB models will all receive $10 price hikes. Meanwhile, the Max 1TB model will go up by $30. Big oof.
