Poznań June 1956: the bloody uprising that shook communist Poland
On the 70th anniversary of the Poznań June 1956 uprising, historian Prof. Paweł Machcewicz says it was the most violent protest against communist rule in Poland's history, with authorities shooting at people without scruple. No subsequent anti-communist protest in Poland was as bloody.
