The head of the emergency department at Warsaw's Szpital Południowy reportedly set up a separate VIP emergency room. Research shows, however, that special treatment of high-profile patients can actually harm them — doctors tend to skip standard procedures under social pressure. The phenomenon is known as "VIP syndrome" and is well documented in medical literature.
