Juice-water taxed lower than plain water – Gwiazdowski slams VAT absurdity
Polish lawyer and commentator Robert Gwiazdowski points out that water mixed with concentrated juice benefits from a preferential VAT rate lower than that applied to plain water in Poland. He argues this creates a tax absurdity in which the state inadvertently incentivises consumers to drink sweetened beverages over plain water. The piece is a critique of Poland's food tax policy.
