30 years of satellite drought monitoring in Poland – from NOAA to Copernicus
Climate change is causing Poland to experience increasingly extreme weather events, including prolonged droughts, flash floods and rising fire risk. For 30 years, space technologies — from early NOAA satellites to today's European Copernicus programme — have provided continuous, nationwide monitoring of environmental conditions and agricultural production.
