White House App Force-Installed on Government Phones Cannot Be Deleted
The White House announced in May that its new app would be automatically pushed to the work phones of millions of federal employees. Workers from the USDA, State Department, and Department of Labor told WIRED anonymously that the app reappears immediately after deletion — one USDA employee confirmed: "I deleted it as a test and it came immediately back." Staff say they are disturbed by the forced installation and fear retaliation for speaking out. The situation raises serious concerns about surveillance and employee privacy.
