Polish whistleblower Monika Silva Koniuszek murdered in Ecuador, activists say
Monika Silva Koniuszek, a 41-year-old Polish anti-corruption activist, was found dead on 8 June at her home in Montañita, Ecuador, with a noose around her neck. A postmortem found she died from a blow to the head and strangulation — contradicting the government's claim of suicide. She had been investigating business allegations against the family of Ecuador's right-wing president.
