How it works

FlashFeed turns a flood of news into short, honest summaries. Here's exactly what happens, step by step, between a story being published and you reading it here — no mystery, no magic.

The short version

  • We gather public news from trusted RSS feeds.
  • AI rewrites each story into a short, factual summary — no clickbait, no opinions, no made-up details.
  • Every summary links back to the original source so you can read the full story.

1. Gathering the news

Every half hour or so we check the RSS feeds of many trusted newsrooms — Polish and international — across a range of fields: technology, sport, business, politics, science and more. From each one we pull the headline, the lead and a link to the original article. Nothing is scraped or copied wholesale; we work only with what publishers share in their public feeds.

2. AI summarization

Each story is then analysed by a large language model. Its job is deliberately narrow: take the most important facts out of the text and write them up as a short, matter-of-fact summary. We give the model strict instructions — no clickbait tone, no inventing details, and nothing added that isn't already in the source.

3. Cutting the clickbait

We specifically tell the model to avoid bait language: no "you won't believe what happened", no hiding the punchline until the last line. If the original headline is sensational, the summary brings it back down to what actually happened — so you can decide in seconds whether a story is worth your time.

4. Two languages, in parallel

Summaries are produced in Polish and English side by side, so both versions carry the same facts. You read the one that suits you — the content doesn't change between them.

5. Always a link to the source

Every article shows the newsroom's name and a link to the original. The summary is there to help you triage quickly; the full, original story always lives at the source, and we send you there with one tap.

What the AI does not do

  • It doesn't create news from scratch — it works only on the text of existing articles.
  • It doesn't judge or comment — it summarizes the facts, it doesn't add opinions.
  • It doesn't replace journalists — all the reporting is done by the newsrooms we cite.

Limits, and your part

AI can get things wrong. Even though we keep refining the rules, a summary may contain a simplification or an error. So treat it as a quick overview, and for anything important always confirm the details at the original source. If you spot a mistake, tell us at kontakt@flashfeed.pl — we fix those by hand.

Who built it

FlashFeed was created and is run by Damian Domżalski (Damian Domżalski Software Services) — an independent developer in Poland. It's a one-person project with one goal: news without the noise. You can read more on the About page.
